Ribwort Plantain - Plantago Lanceolata
Ribwort Plantain, also know as Lamb’s tongue is commonly seen if British grassland and field edges. It flowers between April and October and can grow up to 50cm tall. Short oval flower heads appear to balance on top of their thin, leafless stems. Its spear shaped leaves for a rosette at the base of the plant. The flower heads gradually turn brown and seed, remaining for most of the winter they provide food for seed-eating birds.
