Micro clover can be sown by itself or mixed with grass, making it suitable for overseeding an existing lawn or creating a new one. These seeds are engineered to thrive in any soil type.

For years, micro-clover has been used in Europe as both a ground cover and a companion to turf grass. This variety, a smaller form of the well-known Dutch white clover, is ideal for creating either mixed or pure clover lawns and ground covers.

As a legume, micro-clover has the unique ability to fix nitrogen from the air, thanks to bacteria in its root nodules. This process converts nitrogen into a form that is beneficial to both the clover and neighbouring plants, which is why grass grows better with clover around. Additionally, micro-clover's deep roots make it more drought-resistant than most grasses, helping it stay green during hot, dry summers when grass may turn brown.

If left unmown, micro clover can produce small white flowers, but regular mowing will generally prevent blooming. It’s also worth noting that for a neater and lower growing look you can train micro clover to grow smaller with more regular mowing.

Height when fully grown: 4-6 Inches

 Sowing rate:

  •  For creating a new lawn- 5G per m2
  • For overseeding an existing lawn- 2.5G per m2

Problem: My Clover or Micro clover has grown taller/larger than expected!

Possible Causes:

  • There has been irregular or lack of mowing (this is especially true for micro clover because it requires regular mowing to train the dwarf growth habit)
  • There may be an excess of nutrients in the soil, particularly nitrogen
  • The weather may be warmer and/or more humid than usual
